In 2016 Owner and Trainer, Alissa Jensen started Twin Pines Equestrian in Sisters, Oregon. She had worked for other trainers and was ready to branch out on her own. At that time her focus was mostly dressage and English riding.
In 2017, as a first time participate Alissa placed 4th in the Oregon Mustang Challenge. She was committed to using no-force training methods and completed in the show without a bridle.
It was this experience that started Alissa's journey in horse training utilizing no-force and a strong emphasis on ground work.
Alissa has always had a passion for the unique or unusual animals. In her time in 4-H, she taught a Mule to show jump. Since starting her horse training business she has worked with all sorts of animals. She has worked with wild mustangs, zonkeys, mini mules and has rehabilitate neglected horses.
Her no-force training methods along with her commitment to holistic horse health has made her successful when working with unique animals and situations.
In 2019 Alissa started branching out into Reining. She found a passionate and friendly community among the cowboys that doesn't exist in the Dressage world. She gave up her breeches for a cowgirl hat and hasn't looked back.
In 2022, Alissa relocated to Arizona to pursue new training opportunities and to get away from the Central Oregon winters.
In 2024, Twin Pines Equestrian was re-branded to Twin Pines Performance Horses. This name change reflects our new focus on training and reining.
